So I just read the FP article about the ariel ace and saw it was available with a dual clutch semi-auto box. I'm interested as to how well they work being such a compact and relatively new system. Anyone on here had chance to ride one?

I'd be interested in trying it out, but I'm skeptical on the usefulness. Most motorcyclists shift without using the clutch with current transmissions, I can't see how this would be faster.

I believe it's more to do with comfort from what I've read about it. Does seem like it'd be comfortable on commutes and such. I have to say I'd be interested if I took up riding again, especially with me being very inexperienced as a rider.

I'm not sure to whom Honda was marketing the VFR1200 ... It was a significant departure from the VFR formula, and didn't really take off, so guess what - they have returned to the winning formula for 2014 again.

Anyway, about the DCT on the VFR: Honda claimed it was much smoother and could be ridden by less experienced riders.... Right, inexperienced riders that shelled out $16K for a VFR1200. They even went so far as to show bikes on the synopsis with and w/o DCT to try to depict how smooth it was.... FAIL.
